Danny Boyle, Ethan Coen, Joel Coen, Scott Rudin, et al. Receive Producers Guild Award Nominations

The nominations for the Producers Guild Awards have been announced. Judd Apatow will host the awards ceremony, to be held on January 22 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

The awards honor producers in both film and television. In the former category, the nominees include Danny Boyle and Christian Colson for 127 Hours; Ethan Coen, Joel Coen, and Scott Rudin for True Grit; and Rudin along with Dana Brunetti, Ceán Chaffin, and Michael De Luca for The Social Network, who will be competing for The Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures prize. In addition, the producers of the films Black Swan, Inception, The Fighter, The Kids Are All Right, The King’s Speech, The Town, and Toy Story 3 are nominated in the category.

In the television category, the producers of FOX’s Glee have been nominated for The Danny Thomas Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television, Comedy, as have the executives on the shows 30 Rock, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Modern Family and The Office. Among the shows nominated in the drama category are Dexter and Mad Men.

Along with the news of the nominations for the competitive awards, honors have also been announced for such individuals as James Cameron, who will receive the Milestone Award, Tom Hanks and his Playtone producing partner Gary Goetzman who will be honored with the Norman Lear Achievement Award in Television, Scott Rudin who will be presented with the David O. Selznick Achievement Award in Theatrical Motion Pictures, Laura Ziskin who will receive the Visionary Award, and RealD who will be presented with the Vanguard Award.
