Segerstrom Center for the Arts will present its first Off Center Festival, featuring a mix of contemporary theater, music, dance and performance art, to be presented January 13 – 21.

The festival will kick off with The National Theater of the United States of America’s Chautauqua!, a site-adapted vaudevillian-influenced variety show with music, comedy and short lectures by hand-selected local guests.

Additional performances will include musician Lord Huron; comedian/musician Reggie Watts; Moving Arts’ The Car Plays, conceived by Paul Stein, and featuring 15 short plays simultaneously performed inside parked cars; ReEntry, based on Emily Ackerman and KJ Sanchez’s interviews with Marines returning from Afghanistan and Iraq; Steve Connell and Sekou Andrews’ The Word Begins; Ten Tiny Dances; Mexican Institute of Sound; and a Starving Artists Lounge.
