The story depicts the lives of Henry Covington (Fishbourne), a Detroit preacher who overcame a life mired in drugs and crime, and his wife, Annette (Rose). Mitch Albom, the writer of the screenplay (based on his book), is portrayed in the movie by Whitford. The film also features Martin Landau as Rabbi Albert Lewis, and is directed by Jon Avnet.
The screening will be followed a panel discussion with special guests led by Rabbi David Baron.
