Tony Winner Derek McLane Tapped as Set Designer for Oscars Telecast

Tony Award-winning set designer Derek McLane will be making his debut as Oscar set designer for the 85th Academy Awards telecast.

McLane won the Tony for 33 Variations, and has been Tony-nominated for Anything Goes, Ragtime, and The Pajama Game. He is currently represented on Broadway by his sets for The Heiress and Nice Work If You Can Get It.

As previously reported, Emmy winner Seth MacFarlane is hosting the Oscars, which will be broadcast live on ABC on Sunday, February 24, 2013. The ceremony is being produced by stage, TV and film producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.
