Stage-industry veteran Andy Perez has just been named press director of Los Angeles' Geffen Playhouse, one of the country's most renowned regional theaters. Perez succeeds interim publicists Davidson & Choy Publicity as well as Allison Rawlings, who is now head of publicity at DreamWorks Animation. Going forward, Perez will oversee the theater's publicity, social media, and external communications.

Before his appointment, Perez served as the tour publicist for Cavalia, the Montreal-based equestrian and performing-arts company, helping to create the largest advance in sales in the company's history. Perez also served as the West Coast regional public-relations manager for Feld Entertainment, Inc. and as a publicist for Radio City Entertainment, leading five consecutive publicity campaigns for productions of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular in Los Angeles; Chicago; Detroit; Branson, Missouri; and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

"As a longtime patron of the Geffen Playhouse, it is a dream come true to join the theater," Perez commented to TheaterMania. "Some of my favorite moments onstage occurred at the Geffen. I am excited about our work and the chance to tell people about it."
