The 1969 film The Sterile Cuckoo, starring Tony and Oscar winner Liza Minnelli, will be released on DVD and Blu-ray for the first time on October 16.

Olive Films is issuing the release, which features Minnelli as Pookie Adams, a relentlessly kooky coed who falls in love with a reserved young college student, Jerry Payne (played by Wendell Burton). The film cast also features Tim McIntyre.

Alan J. Pakula directed and produced the film, which earned Oscar nominations for Minnelli, and also for Fred Karlin and Dory Previn's song, "Come Saturday Morning."
