Dangerous Beauty, Nutcracker Ballet and More Part of Pasadena Playhouse’s Fall/Winter Schedule

Pasadena Playhouse has announced the lineup of works it will offer as it emerges, as previously reported, from bankruptcy.

The theater’s programming will feature two holiday offerings, including Gian Carlo Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors (December 16-18). Stephenie Vlahos will direct The intimate Opera Company’s production, which will feature Suzanna Guzman at specific performances. Also on the schedule will be Pasadena Dance Theatre’s production of The Nutcracker Ballet (December 24-31), choreographed by Cynthia Young.

In addition, the theater will offer one fall production that will be announced at a later date and in the new year, Sheryl Kaller will direct the musical Dangerous Beauty. With book and verse by Jeannine Dominy, lyrics by Amanda McBroom and music by Michele Brourman, the piece focuses on a celebrated courtesan poet in 16th century Venice. Specific dates, casting and creative team will be announced shortly.
