Into The Bollywoods to Play Ford Amphitheatre

The world premiere of blue13 dance company’s Into The Bollywoods will be presented in The John Anson Ford Amphitheatre, July 22 and 23. This will mark the company’s fourth appearance at the venue.

Into The Bollywoods is an Indian dance and music fairytale filled with magical beans, princes, wicked witches, and intertwined tales inspired by classics like Jai (Jack) and the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jack & Jill, Hansel & Gretel, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The show will feature original music by composer Tej Gill.

Director and choreographer Achinta S. McDaniel will lead the cast, playing Cinderella, a Wicked Witch, and a Gypsy. Arun Mathai, Associate Artistic Director, will play the leading role of Jai. Kory Keith, Kelly Markos, Rieka Toya, D. Valentine, Derrick Garcia, Amanda Simolari, Taryn Francis, Fernando Casas, Jaime Salgado, Gina Daley, Paulina Vallin, Jon Paul, and Chris Rutledge will fill out the cast. Additional dancers in the ensemble will include Kasi Aysola, Harmony Costa, Emily Goulding, Faith Jeffries, Yumi Kaguya, Alexis McCarthy, Jake Sarkissian, Mindy Von Elling, and others.
