Beau Bridges and Emily Bridges Set for May 7 Reading and Q&A at Samuel French Bookstore

Award-winning actor Beau Bridges and his daughter actress Emily Bridges will celebrate the publication of their play adaptation of Acting: The First Six Lessons, at Samuel French Bookstore in Studio City, California, on Saturday, May 7, at 2pm.

Adapted from Richard Boleslavsky’s 1933 novel about an acting teacher who teaches a young girl the craft of acting along with important life lessons, the play spans 10 scenes progressing from the teacher’s studio, to stage, to filming in Central park, leading to the pinnacle climax at the Empire State building.

In addition to adapting the work, father and daughter performed the play at Theatre West in Los Angeles in the spring of 2010. During their May 7 appearance, they will both be participating in a reading, signing and Q&A.
