Rock of Ages Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Set for June 5 Release

The original motion picture soundtrack recording of the forthcoming Rock of Ages movie will be released on June 5, according to a listing on Amazon.com. The album will be released by WaterTower Music.

The musical, which focuses on a rock club in Los Angeles, has a score that includes the hit songs of iconic rockers Def Leppard, Foreigner, Journey, Poison, REO Speedwagon, and Twisted Sister, among others. The musical’s book is written by Chris D’Arenzio, who has also penned the screenplay with Michael Arndt and Alan Loeb.

Directed by Alan Shankman, the movie, set for a June 15 release, features Malin Akerman, Alec Baldwin, Mary J. Blige, Diego Boneta, Russell Brand, Bryan Cranston, Tom Cruise, Paul Giamatti, Julianne Hough, and Tony Award winner Catherine Zeta-Jones.
