Directed by John Cameron Mitchell, the movie stars Nicole Kidman, who received an Oscar nomination for her performance, and Aaron Eckhart as a couple devastated by the loss of their son. The cast also includes stage veterans Tammy Blanchard, Dianne Wiest, Sandra Oh, Jon Tenney, Patricia Kalember, Mike Doyle, and Giancarlo Esposito.

Bonus features on the DVD and Blu-ray releases of the picture will include audio commentary by director Mitchell, writer Lindsay-Abaire, and director of photography Frank G. DeMarco, as well as deleted scenes.
