Based on Gloria Naylor's beloved award winning collection of stories, the show uses an original score of R&B, pop, disco and old school funk, and concerns eight very different African American women in a 1970's housing project who are struggling with issues of identity, poverty, hope, love and loss.

The cast will feature Lisa Tharps, Christine Horn, Kim Yarbrough, Kelly M. Jenrette, Charlene Modeste, Cheridah Best, Erica Ash, and Julanne Chidi Hill.

The creative team will include Ameenah Kaplan (choreography), Greg Nabours (musical direction), Kurt Boetcher (scenic design), Cameron Zetty (lighting design), Cricket S. Myers (sound design), and Naila Sanders (costume design).
