Singer/songwriter Jill Sobule and writer/actor Julia Sweeney make up The Jill & Julia Show, which will play at the Renberg Theatre, April 4-5, to benefit the LA Gay & Lesbian Center. Combining Sobule’s songs and Sweeney’s stories, the duo creates what they call, “a little bit of magic.”

Best known for her 1995 hit, “I Kissed a Girl,” Sobule has recorded five albums and toured extensively, sharing the stage with Neil Young, the late Warren Zevon, Billy Bragg, and Steve Earle. Sweeney is a regular performer at Beth Lapides Un-Cabaret and she was a Saturday Night Live cast member for four seasons where she introduced the gender-neutral character “Pat.” Her solo works include Letting Go of God, In the Family Way, and God Said Ha!, and her film credits include Pulp Fiction, Stuart Little, and It’s Pat.

Net proceeds of all ticket sales benefit the LA Gay & Lesbian Center.
