Laura Bell Bundy Cast in TBS Pilot Hound Dogs

Laura Bell Bundy has been cast in Ron Shelton’s TBS minor league baseball pilot Hound Dogs, according to a report in Variety.

The show centers on a fictional Nashville baseball team whose players and general manager have plenty of personal issues to contend with off the field. Bundy will play an aspiring country music singer who is the love interest of one of the team’s players, a rookie pitcher (Rob Mayes).

Bundy received a Tony Award nomination for her performance as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde. Her other Broadway credits include Wicked and Hairspray. As a recording artist, she has released such CDs as Achin’ and Shakin’, Longing for a Place Already Gone, and I’ll Be Home for Christmas.
