Christine Lahti to Star in CBS Pilot The Doctor

Stage veteran Christine Lahti will star in the CBS pilot, The Doctor, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The project is executive produced and written by Rina Mimoun, with David Nutter set to direct.

The Doctor will center around Lahti’s character, a mother who reconnects with her adult children when she joins the family medical practice.

Lahti’s stage credits include The Heidi Chronicles, The Exonerated, Third, and A Body of Water. She won an Emmy Award for her work on the CBS-TV series Chicago Hope, starred on the series Jack and Bobby, and recently had a recurring role on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She won an Oscar for directing the short film Lieberman in Love and received an Oscar nomination for acting in the film Swing Shift.
