Jessica Chastain, Martin Short Join Voice Cast of Madagascar 3

Theater veterans Jessica Chastain and Martin Short, along with Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston, have joined the voice cast for DreamWorks’ animated film, Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Sacha Baron Cohen, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Ben Stiller are all reprising their animated roles, with the cast also including Broadway veteran Frances McDormand.

Chastain, who will be voicing Gia the jaguar, will star in a Broadway revival of The Heiress in Fall 2012. Her previous stage credits include Othello,Rodney’s Wife, and Salome. She has garnered much acclaim and numerous awards for her recent work in the films, The Help, The Tree of Life and Take Shelter.

Short won a Tony for his performance in Little Me, with other Broadway credits including Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me and The Goodbye Girl. He may be best known for his work on Saturday Night Live.
