Nicholas Brendon will replace the previously announced John Fleck in the Blank Theatre Company production of Christopher Durang’s Why Torture Is Wrong, and the People Who Love Them, to play the Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood, January 30-March 14, with an opening set for February 6. The dates for Fleck’s upcoming tour have shifted, necessitating his departure from this production.

Durang’s black comedy centers on a young woman whose new husband (whom she married when drunk) may be a terrorist. The previously announced cast also includes Christine Estabrook, Mike Genovese, Catherine Hicks, Sunil Malhotra, Alec Mapa, and Rhea Seehorn

Brendon is perhaps best known for playing Xander on the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He recently played a sold-out holiday engagement of The Santaland Diaries at The Blank.
