The Chichester Festival Theatre production of the comedy, Yes, Prime Minister will return to the Gielgud Theatre, on September 20, according to a report on WhatsOnStage.com. The production is currently playing the Apollo Theatre, where it will conclude its run on September 17.
Adapted for the stage by Antony Jay and Jonathan Lynn (who also directs) from the classic 1980s BBC sitcom, the play has been updated to reflect modern politics, with special policy advisors and a country in financial meltdown. The comedy previously played the Gielgud in its original West End engagement in 2010.
The production stars Simon Williams as civil servant Sir Humphrey and Richard McCabe as hapless Prime Minister Jack Hacker.
