Carley Stenson to Play Princess Fiona in London’s Shrek the Musical

Carley Stenson will take over the role of Princess Fiona in the London production of Shrek the Musical, at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane beginning May 23, according to WhatsOnStage.com. She replaces Kimberley Walsh in the role.

The show, which is based on the story and characters from William Steig’s book Shrek! as well as the DreamWorks Animation film Shrek, features book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize-winner David Lindsay-Abaire, and music by Jeanine Tesori.

Stenson is best known for her work on the Channel 4 soap, Hollyoaks, and played Margot in the West End production of Legally Blonde. Additional theater credits include Grease, Remembering Diana, Godspell, and Aida.

Stenson will join a cast that also includes Dean Chisnall as Shrek, Neil McDermott as Lord Farquaad, and Richard Blackwood as Donkey.
