Anita Dobson and Greta Scacchi will star in the world premiere of Anton Burg’s Bette & Joan at the Arts Theatre, May 5-June 25, according to Whatsonstage.com. The production will be directed by Bill Alexander.
The show focuses on the meeting of actresses Bette Davis and Joan Crawford on the set of the film, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?.
Dobson’s stage credits include Calendar Girls, Hello, Dolly! and Thoroughly Modern Millie.
Scacchi’s stage credits include A Little Night Music, The Deep Blue Sea, The Guardsman, True Life Fiction of Mata Hari, Uncle Vanya, In Times Like These, and Airbase. She is well known for her roles in films such as Presumed Innocent, White Mischief, and Heat and Dust, and she won an Emmy Award for the television film Rasputin: Dark Servant of Destiny.
