Casting has been announced for Glyn Maxwell’s After Troy, which will begin a U.K. tour with an engagement at the Oxford Playhouse, running March 2-5. Alex Clifton will direct the production, which will have choreography by Kate Flatt.

Subsequent tour engagements will include an extended run at the Shaw Theatre in London (March 16 – April 23), the Lowry Salford (April 27-30), and the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough (May 10-14).

The play is a retelling of Euripides’ Women of Troy and Hecuba, focusing on the survivors of war, including four quarrelling women drawn together by grief and three exhausted generals.

The company will feature Hannah Barrie (Andromache), Iain Batchelor (Kratos), Antony Byrne (Agamemnon), Eve Matheson (Hecuba), Amy Noble (‘Polyxena), Oscar Pearce (Talthybius), Rebecca Smith-Williams (Cassandra), and Nicolas Tennant (Mestor).

The creative team will include Patrick Burnier (production design), Alex Silverman (original music), Mike Gunning (lighting design), and Dominic Bilkey (sound design).
