The Hampstead Theatre production of David Hare‘s The Judas Kiss, which wraps up its run at the venue on October 13, has announced a transfer to the West End’s Duke of York’s Theatre to begin January 9, 2013, with an opening on January 17. Neil Armfield directs.

The play speculates on the relationship of Oscar Wilde and Lord Alfred Douglas, focusing on two critical moments in Wilde’s last years – the eve of his arrest and a night after his release from two years imprisonment.

The entire Hampstead cast – including stars Rupert Everett as Wilde and Freddie Fox as Douglas – will reprise their roles. The remainder of the cast includes Ben Hardy, Cal Macaninch, Kirsty Oswald, Alister Cameron and Tom Colley.
