West End Hit We Will Rock You Receives 10th Anniversary Cast Recording

A special 10th Anniversary edition of the original cast recording of the musical We Will Rock You, featuring the songs of Queen, is being released by EMI Records on October 15, 2012.

The musical features book and direction Ben Elton, with music and lyrics by Queen. Music supervisors are Brian May and Roger Taylor. The show has played an unbroken 10 year run at London’s Dominion Theatre, one of the largest venues in the West End.

This new edition comes as a 2 CD and DD set made up of the original CD plus a bonus disc of 11 previously unavailable tracks, including performances by Queen as well as stand-out performances from productions from around the globe, including Australia, Spain and Germany. For certain productions, some or all songs were presented in local translation versions.

There is also a new 20 page booklet describing the chance encounter in August 1996 between Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor with acting legend Robert de Niro at the Venice film Festival which led to the creation of the musical.

The 10th anniversary CD set will be available in record stores and from the Dominion Theatre.
