Sepia Records to Release Do Re Mi Original London Cast Recording on CD

Sepia Records will release the London cast recording of Do Re Mi on CD in November, marking the first time the album has been available on disc.

With music by Jule Styne and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, the show centers on a con man (played by Max Brygraves) who shifts into the music promotion and jukebox business. The score includes such songs as “Make Someone Happy,” “What’s New at the Zoo?,” and “I Know About Love.”

In addition to the 16 tracks of the original recording, the Sepia release will include six bonus tracks featuring such artists as Beatrice Lillie, Steve Arlen and Rose Marie Jun singing selections from the show.

Other Sepia releases in November will be discs featuring Bing Crosby (Through the Years – Volume Eight (1954 – 1955)), and Dorothy Provine (Songs from ‘The Roaring 20’s’), as well as a single disc release of two Lawrence Welk LPs, Calcutta and Yellow Bird.
