Christie Brinkley has delayed joining the West End company of the musical Chicago at the Cambridge Theatre, because her mother, Marge, has been admitted to the hospital for an emergency medical procedure.

Brinkley, who recently played Roxie Hart in the show’s Broadway production, was scheduled to play London, July 11-August 8. No word on when she will join the show.
Sarah Soetaert will continue as Roxie until Brinkley joins the company.

As previously reported, Amra-Faye Wright will join the company as Velma Kelly on July 11. The cast also features Jonathan Wilkes as Billy Flynn, James Doherty as Amos Hart, Jasna Ivir as Mama Morton, and R. Whitehead as Mary Sunshine.

Chicago, with music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and a book by Ebb and Bob Fosse, has been directed by Walter Bobbie and choreographed by Ann Reinking. The creative team includes John Lee Beatty (scenic design), William Ivey Long (costume design), Ken Billington (lighting design), and Scott Lehrer (sound design).
