Mathew Horne to Star in Menier Chocolate Factory Revival of Charley’s Aunt

Mattew Horne will star in the Menier Chocolate Factory’s revival of Brandon Thomas’ comedy Charley’s Aunt, running September 20-November 10, under the direction of Ian Talbot.

Horne will star as the eccentric Lord Fancourt Babberley in the 1892 comedy, who is blackmailed into playing Charley’s wealthy aunt so Charley and Jack can ask their true loves Amy and Kitty for their hands in marriage. Additional casting will be announced. The creative team includes Paul Farnsworth (scenic and costume design) and Jason Taylor (lighting design)

Horne was last seen on the West End stage in Entertaining Mr. Sloane opposite Imelda Satunton. He is best known for playing the titular Gavin in the award-winning series Gavin and Stacey.
