Catherine Mallyon Appointed Executive Director of Royal Shakespeare Company

The Royal Shakespeare Company has announced the appointment of Catherine Mallyon as its new executive director.

Mallyon currently serves as deputy chief executive at Southbank Centre and has also worked as head of arts and theatres at Reading Borough Council and general manager at Oxford Playhouse. She will take up her new post at the Annual General Meeting of the RSC on September 14.

Mallyon will be replacing Vikki Heywood in the position. At the same meeting where Mallyon will assume her position, chief associate director Gregory Doran will also take over for current director Michael Boyd.
