Plays by Anya Reiss, Penelope Skinner Added to Royal Court’s 2011 Season

The Royal Court Theatre has added two productions to its 2011 season. Both shows will run in the company’s Jerwood Theatre Upstairs.

Anya Reiss’ The Acid Test, which will run May 13 – June 11, focuses on four young people as they pass a night drinking and trying to console a friend who has been kicked out of his family’s house. Simon Godwin will direct the production, which will be designed by Paul Wills, with lighting by Malcolm Rippeth.

Joe Hill-Gibbins will direct Penelope Skinner’s The Village Bike, to run June 24 – July 23. The play examines how a woman’s attempts to stem her frustrations during her pregnancy send her speeding downhill towards reckless abandon.
