By Andy Propst • Feb 22, 2012 • London
Principal casting has been announced for Soul Sister, to run April 15 - May 5 at the Hackney Empire, according to a report on the website for the U.K. magazine The Stage. Bob Eaton will direct the production, which will have choreography and musical staging by Jason Pennycooke.

Devised by Pete Brooks and John Miller, the show revisits the story of Tina Turner (to be played by Emi Wokoma), including her relationship with husband Ike Turner (Chris Tummings). It will feature many of the songs associated with her career, including "What's Love Got to Do with It," "Proud Mary," "Private Dancer," and "River Deep Mountain High."
