Brian Cox, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hollander, Maggie Smith, et al. Receive BPG TV Award Nominations

The nominations for the 37th Broadcasting Press Guild (BPG) TV Awards have been announced. The prizes will be presented in a ceremony to be held on March 25 at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

Benedict Cumberbatch has been nominated in the Best Actor category for his work in two BBC One series: Sherlock and Van Gogh: Painted with Words. Also nominated for Best Actor are Tom Hollander (for both Rev and Any Human Heart) and Hugh Bonneveille (for both The Silence and Downton Abbey). Dame Maggie Smith has been nominated in the Best Actress category for her work on this latter show, alongside Helena Bonham Carter (Toast) and Julie Walters (Mo).

Other nominees include Brian Cox, who has been nominated in the Best Performance in a non-Acting Role category, and the program Alan Bennett & the Habit of Art, which has been nominated in the Best Single Documentary category.
