Original London Cast Recording of Colette, Starring Cleo Laine, Set for February 22 Release

The original London cast recording of Colette, featuring Cleo Laine, will be released for the first time on CD by Stage Door Records on February 22.

The musical, with a score by John Dankworth, is based on the life of the French writer and traces her journey from childhood through three marriages and two World Wars. The recording also features Kenneth Nelson and John Moffatt, who narrates. The piece was originally seen at London’s Comedy Theatre in September 1980.

The disc has been manufactured using the original master tapes, all of which have been remastered and will be accompanied by notes from the composer and rare production photographs.
