Synetic Theater Announces 2009-2010 Season

Synetic Theater has announced production details for their 2009-2010 season, which will include four full productions. Full casting will be annouced at a later date.

The season will open with Dracula, September 24-November 15, a restaging of their 2005 production of Bram Stoker’s gothic dreamscape featuring the talents of Paata and Irina Tsikurishvili at the Rosslyn Spectrum. Anthony and Cleopatra will follow, January 28-February 28, Shakespeare’s tragedy told with a blend of music, movement, and dance, and featuring Ben Cunis and resident choreographer Irina Tsikurishvili in the title roles at the Lansburgh Theatre. Paata Tsikurishvili will direct both productions.

Derek Goldman will direct a reimagining of Franz Kafka’s darkly comic classic tale of family, alienation, and a giant bug with Metamorphosis, April 8-May 22, featuring choreography by Irina Tsikurishvili at the Rosslyn Spectrum. The season will close with Othello, May 27-June 13, Shakespeare’s tragedy of love destroyed by jealousy, directed by Paata Tsikurishvili at the Family Theater in the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
