Michael Hayden to Star in Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Richard II and Henry V

Michael Hayden will play the title characters in Shakespeare Theatre Company’s repertory productions of Richard II (February 2-April 10) and Henry V (February 4-April 10), with both performing at Sidney Harman Hall.

Michael Kahn will direct Richard II, while David Muse will direct Henry V. The acting company will also Charles Borland, Conrad Feininger, Philip Goodwin, Rachael Holmes, Naomi Jacobson, Stephen Paul Johnson, Floyd King, Dan Kremer, John Lescault, Louis Lotorto, Darren Matthias, Larry Paulsen, Robynn Rodriguez, Tom Story, Ted van Griethuysen, Derrick Lee Weeden, and Scott Whitehurst with Meredith Burns, Sun King Davis, Joseph Ibanez, Devon Jackson, William Ledent, Jason Marr, Sarah Mollo-Christensen, Charlie Francis Murphy, Adam Navarro, Todd Quick, David Joseph Regelmann, Jakob Stalnaker, and Patrick Vaill.

The design team will include Lee Savage (set), Jennifer Moeller (costumes-Richard II), Elizabeth Hope Clancy (costumes-Henry V)Mark McCullough (lighting), Martin Desjardins (composer-Richard II/sound design), Fabian Obispo (composer-Henry V), Ellen O’Brien (voice and text coach), Rick Sordelet (fight director), Daniel Pelzig (choreographer-Henry V), and George Fulginiti-Shakar (music director-Henry V).

Hayden previously appeared in STC’s 2008 production of The Dog in the Manger and the 1998 production of Sweet Bird of Youth. He received a Tony Award nomination for Judgment at Nuremberg, and additional Broadway credits include Cabaret, Festen, Carousel, Henry IV, and Enchanted April.
