Treat Williams to Host MTC Spring Gala

Manhattan Theatre Club (MTC) has announced that its Spring Gala will be held on May 12 this year, hosted by Treat Williams (Captains Courageous, Follies) and directed by Richard Maltby, Jr. (Baby).

The event will include numbers from this season's Broadway shows, including Hairspray, La Bohème, Movin' Out, The Look of Love, Urban Cowboy, Man of La Mancha, and Russell Simmons Def Poetry Jam on Broadway. Two Off-Broadway productions, The Jackie Wilson Story and Zanna, Don't!, will also be represented. Among the celebrities scheduled to attend are Lynn Redgrave, Swoosie Kurtz, Tony Roberts, Donna Murphy, Marc Shaiman, Scott Wittman, Denis O'Hare, Ana Gasteyer, Erica Jong, Kitty Carlisle Hart, and New York state senator Charles Schumer.

The gala will be held on Monday, May 12 at the New York Hilton, 1335 Avenue of the Americas at 53rd Street. It will begin with cocktails and a silent auction at 7pm, followed by dinner at 8pm and the show at 9pm. Individual tickets for cocktails, dinner, and the show are $1000, while group tables run from $10,000-$30,000. For additional information, call 212-399-3000, ext. 144.
