Kushner's work-in-progress imagines Laura Bush reading Dostoevsky to an audience of pajama-clad Iraqi children. Kushner and Sarandon are well known as both theater artists and progressive activists. Only We Who Guard the Mystery Shall Be Unhappy has already had several readings across the U.S.; following the Long Whart reading, Edelstein will moderate a discussion about the work.
