Bernadette Peters received the Distinguished Dedication and Service to the American Musical Theater Award at the Westport Country Playhouse’s gala, Playing Our Songs: Celebrating 80 Years of Musical Theater, on Monday, September 19.

The gala featured a retrospective of the musicals seen at the Playhouse stage since its founding in 1931. Among the performers and attendees were Lucie Arnaz, Sheldon Harnick, Tom Jones, Laurence Luckinbill, Dick Lumbard, James Naughton, Andrew Rannells, Max Von Essen, and Karen Ziemba.

Joshua Rhodes directed the event and served as co-choreographer, with Lorin Latarro. Mary-Mitchell Campbell was the music director.
