Campion, Eisenberg, Latessa, Masur, Robards, et al. Join Tomei for Westport Reading of Golden Boy

Kieran Campion will star opposite Academy Award winner Marisa Tomei in a reading of Clifford Odets’ Golden Boy, to be presented at 7pm on Monday, August 25 at the Westport Country Playhouse. The reading will be directed by Joanne Woodward, the Playhouse’s co-artistic director.

Odets’ 1937 play focuses on Joe Bonaparte (Campion), a young man who dreams of becoming a world-famous violinist, who is coerced by the lovely Lorna (Tomei) into becoming a professional prizefighter.

The cast will also feature Ned Eisenberg, Dick Latessa, Richard Masur, Jake Robards, Brian J. Carter, Bruce MacVittie, John Mainieri, Andrea Maulella, and Andrew Weems.

Campion’s stage credits include Our Town, Journey’s End, and David Copperfield. Tomei was last on Broadway in Top Girls, for which she received a Drama Desk Award nomination. Her many other stage credits include Salome, Wait Until Dark, Rocket to the Moon, and Waiting for Lefty. She received the Academy Award for My Cousin Vinny.
