Stew and Heidi Rodewald will create all-new music and songs for Shakespeare on the Sound’s production of Romeo and Juliet, to be performed June 26-July 8 in Greenwich, CT and July 18-July 29 in Rowayton, CT. Artistic Director Joanna Settle will direct.

In Shakespeare on the Sound’s Romeo and Juliet, audiences will find themselves at a dinner with a Shakespearean twist. “We are conceiving Romeo and Juliet as a dinner party among eight friends who have an annual tradition of reading a Shakespeare play on a gorgeous summer’s night,” says Settle in a statement.

In addition to the music, Stew will be writing and developing two newly commissioned scenes created for the dinner party.

The design team will include Andrew Lieberman (set design), Tilly Grimes (costume design), Keith Parham (lighting design), Jessica Paz (sound system design), Obadiah Eaves (sound design), and David Neumann (choreography).
