Private Practice star Kate Walsh will be honored by the Piven Theatre Workshop at its 2010 Annual Awards Brunch, to be held at Sunda Restaurant in Chicago, on Sunday, October 17 at Noon.

Walsh, a Piven Theatre Workshop alum, will receive the Joyce Piven Artistic Excellence Award for her continued support of the workshop and her outstanding contribution to theater nationwide. The actress made her Off-Broadway debut this past May in Stephen Belber’s Dusk Rings a Bell, with regional stage credits including productions of Happy Birthday, Wanda June, Troilus and Cressida, and Flesh and Blood.

A special VIP Reception will be held prior to the Awards Brunch at a private downtown location. The ceremony will also honor Rockit Ranch Productions CEO & Founder, arts advocate, and Emmy Award winnner Billy Dec with the Byrne Piven Community Service Award.

Tickets are $100 for the brunch only, or $250 including the VIP reception. All proceeds from the 2010 Annual Awards Brunch will benefit Piven Theatre Workshop.
