Chicago Shakespeare Theater has announced the full cast and creative team for its upcoming staging of Shakespeare’s Othello. Helmed by UK director Jonathan Munby, the production will be part of the yearlong Shakespeare 400 Chicago celebration. Othello will play in CST’s Courtyard Theater from February 18-April 10.

The production will feature James Vincent Meredith in the title role, with Bethany Jillard as Desdemona, Michael Milligan as Iago, Luigi Sottile as Cassio, Jessie Fisher as Emilia, Melissa Carlson as the Duke of Venice, Laura Rook as Bianca, Fred Geyer as Roderigo, James Krag as Lodovico, David Lively as Brabantio/Gratiano, and Bret Tuomi as Montano. Kevin Patrick Duffy, Conor Foley, Kyle Haden, Brian Grey, Cody Proctor, Marvin Quijada, Joseph Sultani, and Max Thomas make up the ensemble.

The creative team will include scenic designer Alexander Dodge, costume designer Linda Cho, and lighting designer Philip S. Rosenberg, with Lindsay Jones creating original music as composer and sound designer.

In Munby's version of Shakespeare's classic, he imagines the action taking place in the landscape of a modern-day military base amid themes of revenge, prejudice, and passion.
