Lisa Rosenthal’s The Good Harvest has won the 2008 Dionysos Cup, Polarity Ensemble Theatre’s play reading festival, which included staged readings of four full-length plays from Chicago-area playwrights.

The Good Harvest explores the lives of triplets Henry, Molly and Jonathan who are shocked by the appearance of their long-estranged father at their mother’s funeral. The play moves back and forth in time to tell the story of one family’s origins and the desperation that surrounds their choice to use in vitro fertilization.

Rosenthal is a Resident Playwright at Chicago Dramatists and an Affiliated Artist at American Theater Company. Her other works include The Politics of Brie, Retreat, Just the Sweet Stuff, and Milk in China.
