A first look at the inaugural production of Steppenwolf’s 2013-14 season.
Steppenwolf Theatre Company is just weeks away from rolling out its 2013-14 season with the American premiere of Zinnie Harris’
The Wheel, running from September 12-November 10 in the Downstairs Theatre. Ensemble member Tina Landau directs this work of magical realism. Set in 19th century Spain, the play follows a character named Beatriz as she attempts to reunite a young girl with her father.
The Wheel ‘s 17-member cast features Joan Allen, Robert Breuler, Tim Hopper, Ora Jones, and Yasen Peyankov. The production team includes Blythe R.D. Quinlan (scenic design), Ana Kuzmanic (costume design), Scott Zielinski (lighting design), Kevin O’Donnell (sound design), Stephan Mazurek (projection design), Matt Hawkins (fight choreography), and Dennis Watkins (magic consultant).
