Michael Shannon and Mierka Girten to Star in Craig Wright’s Mistakes Were Made at Red Orchid

Oscar nominee Michael Shannon and Mierka Girten will star in the world premiere of Craig Wright’s Mistakes Were Made at Chicago’s Red Orchid Theatre, September 8-October 31, with an opening on September 10. Dexter Bullard will direct.

The two-character play is about a studio executive who takes on a gargantuan project. Wright’s other plays include Orange Flower Water, The Pavillion and Recent Tragic Events. His television work includes Brothers & Sisters and Dirty Sexy Money.

The creative team includes Tom Burch (sets), Tiffany Bullard (costumes), Joseph Fosco (sound), Matt Gawryk (lighting), and Sam Deutsch (puppets).

Shannon was Oscar-nominated for his role in Revolutionary Road, and is a founding member of A Red Orchid Theatre. His New York stage credits include Wright’s Lady, as well as The Little Flower of East Orange. He also appeared in the stage and film versions of Bug. Girten, also a Red Orchid company member, has worked extensively in Chicago and appeared in the national tour of The Secret Garden.
