ATC Announces Casting for 2008-2009 Season

American Theater Company (ATC) has announced the casting for its upcoming season, as well as additional company members Kareem Bandealy, Casey Campbell, Joe Minoso, Tania Richard, and Sadieh Rifai who will be joining the ATC ensemble this year.

The season opener, The People’s Temple (September 4-28) directed by Leigh Fondakowski will feature Patrick Andrews, Daniel J. Bryant, Darrell W. Cox, Tim Decker, Cheryl Graeff, Kenn Head, Amy Methany, John Mohrlein, Tania Richard, Editha Rosario, and Penelope Walker. David Cromer will direct Itamar Moses’ Celebrity Row (October 16-November 9), featuring Joe Minoso, Usman Ally, Chris McLinden, Larry Neumann, Jr, and Kelli Simpkins. It’s a Wonderful Life: The Radio Play, December 4-28, will have Marty Higginbotham at the helm with a cast including Kate Berry, Casey Campbell, James Leaming, James Lusk, Mohrlein, Sean Okerberg, Sadieh Rifai, and John Sterchi.

Topdog/Underdog and True West, January 15-March 8, will feature Matthew Brumlow, Bryant, Ian Paul Custer, Stephen Louis Grush, and Anthony Irons. Finally, Yeast Nation, April 9-May 17, will be directed by PJ Paparelli with a cast including Ed Kross, Erica Elam, Robert Gerdisch, Govind Kumar, Stephanie Kim, Michael Mahler, Phil Ridarelli, Sandie Rosa, Cessalee Smith, Trista Smith, Bethany Thomas, Joseph Tokarz, and Wendi Weber.

In related news, Michael Thomas Newberry will be joining ATC as the new Executive Director. Newberry, formerly the Deputy Director of Chicago Shakespeare, will begin at ATC in early August.
