Victory Gardens Theater has announced the six plays that will comprise its 2010 IGNITION Festival, to run August 15-22. Each of the pieces will be presented as a staged reading. Following the Festival, two of the works will be selected for further workshop development during the 2010-2011 season, and one of these final two scripts will receive a full production at the theater in a future season.

The IGNITION Festival will include The Subject by Chisa Hutchinson; Aurora by Leonard Madrid; Edith Can Shoot Things and Hit Them by A. Rey Pamatmat; We Are Proud to Present a Presentation About the Herero of Namibia, Formerly Known as South-West Africa, From the German Sudwestafrika, Between the Years 1884-1915 by Jackie Sibblies; and Undone by Andrea Thome, as well as Mala Hierba by Tanya Saracho, which, as previously reported, will also be part of About Face Theatre’s XYZ Festival this fall.

Casting and creative teams for the six plays will be announced in the near future.
