Steppenwolf Invites Three Local Companies to Present in February

Chicago’s The Dog & Pony Theatre Company, Pavement Group, and Thirteen Pocket are the three theater groups that Steppenwolf Theatre Company has invited to take part in its Visiting Companies Initiative for 2009-2010. The groups will each offer a production that will run in rotating repertory for ten weeks beginning February 2010 in Steppenwolf’s Garage Theatre.

Dog & Pony will present The Twins Would Like To Say, a play written and directed by Seth Bockley and Devon de Mayo that looks into the true story of identical twins June and Jennifer Gibbons, who made a secret pact that went unbroken for over 20 years. Gregory Moss’ punkplay will be the production offered by Pavement Group. Directed by David Perez, this piece explores the story of two boys who find that punk music might be their escape hatch from their suburban 1980’s existence. Adore, written and directed by Stephen Louis Grush, will be the presentation from Thirteen Pocket. In this piece, two men find each other over the internet, and begin a complex and strange relationship.
