Gretchen Cryer, Malachy McCourt, and Chicago cast members of Million Dollar Quartet are among the artists who will take part in a special concert to honor producer Michael Cullen, to be offered on May 3 at the Royal George Theatre. Michael Weber will direct the performance, which will raise funds to assist Cullen as he recuperates from a stroke.

The evening will also feature cast members from many of Cullen’s productions, including Nancy Baird from Steel Magnolias; Malcolm Ruhl, John Foley, Shawn Stengel, Susie and Joel Raney, Tom Mendel, Mary Launder, Rick Pickren, Tammy Mader, Liza Jaine, Tiffany Herlien, Shaun Whitely, Brian Burke and Maggie LaMee from Pump Boys and Dinettes; and Jane Baxter, Miller, Kent Lewis, David Girolmo, Justine Serino, and Susan Voelz from The Irish & How They Got That Way.

Cullen, owner of the Mercury Theater and Cullen’s Bar and Grill, has been pioneer in the development of Chicagoland theater as it is known today. Some of his other productions include the Midwest premiere of Cryer’s I’m Getting My Act Together and Taking It on the Road, Tintypes, which played a record breaking run at the Apollo Theater Center and earned six Joseph Jefferson Awards, and Lily Tomlin; Appearing Nightly.
