Lookingglass Theatre Company Announces 2008-2009 Season

Lookingglass Theatre Company has announced the selections for its 2008-2009 season, which will include two Lookingglass original adaptations by ensemble members Mary Zimmerman and Heidi Stillman.

The season will open with the world premiere of Stillman’s adaptation of The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky, October 15-December 7. Stillman will also direct the production, which examines the life of one of literature’s most lecherous, greedy and despicable fathers.


Next up, Anna D. Shapiro and Jessica Thebus will direct Thornton Wilder’s classic, Our Town, bringing the citizens of Grover’s Corners to life again, February 11-April 5.

The season will close with Zimmerman’s adaptation of The Arabian Nights, May 20-July 12, which follows King Shahrayar’s revenge for his wife’s infidelity and the only woman who manages to counter him. Zimmerman will also direct.
