Annette O’Toole and John Earl Jelks to Star in Goodman’s Magnolia

Full cast and creative team have been announced for the Goodman Theatre’s production of Regina Taylor’s new play Magnolia, to run March 14-April 19. The production will be directed by Tony Award winner Anna D. Shapiro.

The play is set in Atlanta in 1963, where the Mayor has created a segregated area where African Americans can live. Taylor’s other plays including Drowning Crow and Crowns; she is also an award-winning actress, who currently stars on CBS’ The Unit.

The show will star Annette O’Toole and John Earl Jelks, along with Tyla Abecrumbie, Cliff Chamberlain, Caitlin Collins, Carrie Coon, Tory O. Davis, Brandon J. Dirden, John Hines, John Judd, Ernest Perry, Jr., and Roxanne Reese.

The creative team will feature Todd Rosenthal (sets), Linda Cho (costumes), James F. Ingalls (lighting), Richard Woodbury (sound), and Daryl Waters (music composition). Shapiro won the 2008 Tony Award for August: Osage County.
