Nick Sandys to Become Artistic Director at Remy Bumppo Theatre Company

Nick Sandys will assume the position of artistic director of Remy Bumppo Theatre Company on February 1. He succeeds Timothy Douglas, who will depart the organization on January 31.

Sandys is an actor, director, fight choreographer and educator and has been an Artistic Associate at Remy Bumppo since 2002. He has appeared in 14 productions for the company and earned Joseph Jefferson Award nominations for his performances in the theater’s The Goat, Or Who Is Sylvia?, The Real Thing, and Les Liaisons Dangereuses, for which he also received a Jeff nomination for Fight Choreography.

Among his other credits are appearances at the Goodman, Northlight, Chicago Shakespeare, Writers’ Theatre, Next Theatre, Lookingglass, Marriott Lincolnshire, Drury Lane Oakbrook, Light Opera Works, and Chamber Opera Chicago. As a director, he has worked throughout Chicago and regionally.
